Wai Hoong Leong, Senior Portfolio Manager at Nikko AM

Wai Hoong is a senior member of the Asian Fixed Income investment team, responsible for managing active Asian credit portfolios. He was voted “One of the Most Astute Investors” for Singapore dollar denominated bonds from 2009 to 2011 by “The Asset Benchmark Research”. Between 2010 and 2020, Wai Hoong was also consistently ranked and highly commended in the category of Asian G3 denominated bonds. Wai Hoong joined in August 2006 and has 23 years of experience in credit analysis and was previously with The Norinchukin Bank, Singapore Branch and DBS Bank. His coverage spanned across sectors such as telecommunications, technology and transportation in ASEAN, Greater China, India, Australia and New Zealand. Wai Hoong holds a Bachelor Of Business Administration (Honors) Degree in Banking And Finance from the National University Of Singapore and is a CFA® charter holder.

Chu Toh Chieh, CFA, Co-Head, Fixed Income Team at Lion Global Investors

Chu Toh Chieh is a co-head of the Fixed Income team at Lion Global Investors. He is also a member of the total return (long only) bond strategy team and the Singapore fixed income strategy team.

Toh Chieh has 27 years of financial industry experience and was previously a fund manager at UOB Asset Management and State Street Global Advisors. He has also managed portfolios involving various fixed income markets, including Asian bonds, Asian convertibles and emerging market debt. Toh Chieh earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (Honours) from the National University of Singapore and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Justin Jimenez, Macroeconomic Research Analyst at StashAway

Justin has a decade of experience in economic and investment research. Before joining StashAway, he was an economist at Bloomberg and an analyst at Asean Confidential, an emerging markets research service under the Financial Times. Justin holds a Masters in International Finance and Economic Policy from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Development from UCLA.
