Frequently Asked Questions
What is Simple Fixed?
Simple Fixed is a fixed-rate, fixed-tenor cash management portfolio by StashAway, launching in January 2026. It’s the next evolution of Simple Guaranteed.
Here's what to expect with Simple Fixed:
✔️ Fixed rate, confirmed the moment you lock in
✔️ Earn more than typical bank deposits
✔️ Simply transparent - every dollar earns the same rate
From early January 2026 onwards, Simple Guaranteed will no longer be accepting new deposits. Your existing deposits will continue to maturity as usual, and you’ll be able to reinvest into Simple Fixed once they have unlocked.
We’ll notify you once Simple Fixed is live in the app.
How do I decide whether to use StashAway Simple Fixed, StashAway Simple, or Simple Plus?
StashAway Simple Fixed, StashAway Simple, and Simple Plus are ultra-low-risk cash portfolios, but they serve different purposes:
| Simple Fixed | Simple | Simple Plus | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Returns (Net of fees) | Fixed rate once locked in: 1.35% p.a. | 1.7% p.a. | 2.7% p.a. |
| Lock-in period | 1-month | None | None |
| Risk | No volatility | Minimal volatility | More short-term volatility than Simple |
| Assets | Money markets | Focus on money market funds | Focus on short-term bonds |
| StashAway fees | Up to the difference between actual returns and the fixed rate | 0.15% p.a. | 0.20% p.a. |
In summary, Simple Fixed offers fixed returns with a predictable outcome, no guesswork required.
Simple allows you to put your cash to work while still giving you the flexibility and access you need with ultra-low risk.
Simple Plus offers higher potential returns at the cost of more short-term volatility than Simple.
The Simple Fixed rate is correct as of 8 Jan 2026, Simple and Simple Plus rate as of 5 Dec 2025.
What is the fee charged for Simple Fixed?
The rate you see is the rate you get.
The fixed rate shown to you in the app already reflects how Simple Fixed is managed and priced. There are no additional charges applied on top of the fixed rate you lock in.
Here’s how it works:
When you lock in a rate for Simple Fixed, your funds are invested into high-quality, SGD‑denominated money market funds. The performance of these underlying investments may be higher or lower than the fixed rate you’ve locked in.
- If the underlying investments perform below the fixed rate, StashAway will top up the difference so that you still receive the fixed rate you locked in.
- If the underlying investments perform above the fixed rate, the excess return will be kept by StashAway as management fees.
This means your final return does not change based on how the underlying investments perform during your tenor.
Here’s an illustration of how the fee structure works:
| Fixed rate you see | Actual funds' return | Outcome |
|---|---|---|
| 1.5% p.a. | 1.6% p.a. | You earn 1.5% p.a. and StashAway will charge 0.1% p.a. as a management fee |
| 1.5% p.a. | 1.5% p.a. | You earn 1.5% p.a. |
| 1.5% p.a. | 1.4% p.a. | You earn 1.5% p.a. because StashAway will top up 0.1% p.a. |
Note: These figures are for illustration purposes only and do not represent actual or guaranteed returns.
As you can see, the fixed rate already factors in all fees and market outcomes. Regardless of how the underlying investments perform during your tenor, the rate you lock in is exactly what you’ll earn at the end of the 1‑month period.
Can I lock in the rate for my Simple Fixed portfolio at any time?
Yes, you can create a Simple Fixed portfolio and lock in your tenor on any day the rate is live. Here’s how it works:
Fixing your tenor on working days
- Lock in before 1:15pm (SGT)Your 1-month fixed tenor will start on the same business day
- Lock in after 2:15pm (SGT)Your 1-month tenor will begin on the next business day.
Fixing your tenor on weekends and public holidays
- You can still lock in a rate over the weekend or public holidays.

From time to time, we may also carry out unscheduled system maintenance. During these periods, fixing your tenor may be temporarily unavailable.
Can I use my SRS funds to invest in Simple Fixed?
Yes, you can fund your Simple Fixed portfolio with your Supplementary Retirement Scheme (SRS) account. When creating your portfolio, you’ll be able to choose SRS as your funding source. The lock-in and fixed rate mechanics are exactly the same, whether you fund your portfolio with SRS or cash.
Is Simple Fixed covered by the SDIC?
No. Simple Fixed is not a bank deposit, so it’s not covered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC), which only applies to funds held with licensed banks.
Instead, it’s an investment portfolio managed by StashAway, with returns that come from ultra-low risk investments. The fixed rate you lock in is confirmed upfront, and not subject to the market swings that affect traditional investments, hence your Simple Fixed portfolio experiences no volatility..
In short: There is no SDIC protection but you still get predictable returns with Simple Fixed.
