SRS Promotions in Singapore: DBS, OCBC, UOB and Platform Rewards [2026]

DBS is running an SRS promotion until 30 November 2026 that pays cash gifts of up to S$50 for opening a new SRS account and up to S$50 for investing existing SRS funds, a combined ceiling of S$100. That leaves about six weeks for anyone looking at SRS promotions in Singapore this year, and a further month before the 31 December contribution deadline that decides your tax relief.

An SRS promotion is a reward an SRS operator bank or investment platform pays for opening an account, contributing, or investing SRS money in a qualifying product. It sits on top of a much larger scheme: Singapore had 516,376 SRS account holders and S$23.88 billion in cumulative contributions at the end of December 2025, and 21% of the SRS investment portfolio was still held as cash.

That idle cash is what most promotions target. Banks reward a first contribution or a first investment, and platforms reward new money moved into their products. How much tax you save depends only on how much you contribute and your tax position.

The live options at the moment are DBS's three-part offer, a stackable insurance discount that runs into January 2027, and StashAway's welcome rewards for new clients, which accept SRS deposits and close on 30 October 2026. OCBC and UOB have run SRS campaigns before, and their timing matters if you are deciding where to open your one SRS account.

This guide explains how promotions differ from tax relief, what is live now, the DBS conditions with worked examples, what a reward is worth against fees, the main reward types, how to claim responsibly, and why a bonus is rarely a reason to change operator.

SRS promotions in Singapore at a glance

As of 18 October 2026, DBS is the only bank with an SRS-specific offer. StashAway's welcome rewards for new clients also count deposits made with SRS funds. Each deadline is the promotion's own end date, separate from the 31 December contribution cut-off.

The dates that matter fall in a tight window. StashAway's welcome rewards close first, DBS's cash gifts a month later, then the tax-relief cut-off, with the RetireSavvy add-on running a month longer.

Timeline of SRS promotion deadlines and the 31 December 2026 contribution cut-off

SRS promotions and SRS tax relief are separate

Tax relief follows IRAS rules regardless of which bank holds your account or which promotion you join. SRS relief is granted in the Year of Assessment after the contribution, provided you are a tax resident for that YA, and it counts towards the overall personal relief cap of S$80,000. A contribution of S$10,000 earns the same relief at DBS, OCBC or UOB.

Promotional rewards run on a separate track. They have their own deadlines, qualifying products, quotas and crediting rules, all set by the bank or platform. Missing a promotion costs you the reward; missing the 31 December contribution deadline, or your operator's earlier cut-off, costs you a year of relief.

The two are also different in size. A citizen with S$100,000 of chargeable income who contributes S$10,000 saves S$1,150 in tax under the resident rates for YA 2024 onwards, because the whole deduction falls in the 11.5% band. The largest DBS cash gift on the same contribution is S$50.

Relief comes first and the reward second. Decide how much to contribute based on your tax position and when you will need the money, then check whether a promotion pays you for something you were going to do anyway.

DBS SRS promotion 2026: full conditions

DBS has the only bank SRS cash promotion live in October 2026. It has two cash gift categories, each capped at S$50, plus a stackable insurance offer. Check the qualifying conditions for each category on the DBS SRS promotion page before you fund anything.

New SRS account cash gift

This category is for investors who open a new DBS SRS account through digibank. Contributing at least S$1 earns a S$5 cash gift, and contributing at least S$10,000 earns S$50. Only the highest applicable gift is paid.

Each gift is limited to the first 2,000 qualified customers. Because the quota is first come, first served, contributing early in November is safer than waiting for the last week of the campaign.

Investment cash gift via digiWealth

The second category rewards existing SRS holders who invest their SRS funds through digiWealth in eligible unit trusts and/or single premium insurance plans. Investing S$1,000 to S$4,999 earns S$10, S$5,000 to S$9,999 earns S$30, and S$10,000 or more earns S$50, with the first 1,000 qualified customers eligible.

Only listed products count. Shares, ETFs and Singapore Savings Bonds bought with SRS money fall outside this category, as do products bought through other channels.

RetireSavvy add-on to 31 January 2027

DBS runs a stackable offer for SRS funds placed in a RetireSavvy single premium plan. Entering promo code RSBOOST1 on the Payment Details page gives a 3% premium discount and a free digiPortfolio gift with S$68 credit, until 31 January 2027.

On a S$10,000 single premium, a 3% discount works out to S$300. That is a meaningful sum, attached to a long-term insurance contract. Early termination of a policy usually involves high costs and the surrender value may be less than the total premiums paid, so the plan has to suit you on its own merits.

Which DBS tier you get: worked examples

The tiers look simple, but the highest-gift-only rule catches people out, and a single dollar either side of a threshold can change the payout.

Two details are worth acting on. An investment of S$4,999 earns S$10 while S$5,000 earns S$30, so if you were already planning roughly that amount, the threshold is the figure to aim for. And the new-account S$10,000 tier sits within the S$15,300 annual cap for citizens and PRs, so citizens and PRs can reach it within their limit.

OCBC and UOB SRS promotions in 2026

Neither the OCBC SRS support page nor the UOB SRS account page lists an SRS-specific promotion as of 18 October 2026. The other offers on those pages cover products such as credit cards, savings promotions and insurance.

OCBC has run new-account SRS campaigns twice in the past year, and both have ended. They show the usual shape of a bank SRS offer: a tiered cash reward for money transferred into a newly opened account, with transfers from another bank excluded.

The 2026 mid-year campaign required a deposit of at least S$1,000 to earn anything and paid S$50 for S$10,000 and above, credited by 30 September 2026. Withdrawing any part of the deposit before the campaign ended forfeited the reward.

What an SRS reward is worth against costs

A cash gift is paid once. Fees on the product you buy are paid every year you hold it, so the product's costs matter far more than the reward when you choose what to invest in.

Say you invest S$10,000 of SRS money, earn a S$50 reward, and the product charges a 0.5% annual fee. The fee comes to S$50 in the first year alone, so the reward covers one year of costs. Over 10 years, the same fee rate adds up to about S$500 on a S$10,000 balance before any growth, ten times the reward.

ItemAmount on S$10,000
Top DBS cash giftS$50 once
0.5% annual fee, year 1S$50
0.5% annual fee, 10 years, flat balanceS$500
Interest on uninvested SRS cash at 0.05% a yearS$5 a year

Example only, based on the DBS SRS promotion, DBS SRS account and IRAS income tax rates (as of 18 October 2026). Assumes a hypothetical 0.5% annual fee and a flat balance.

The comparison cuts both ways. Uninvested SRS cash at DBS earns 0.05% a year, about S$5 on S$10,000, so a reward that nudges you to invest idle money has some value. Weigh the reward against the product's total ongoing cost and how long you will hold it.

Types of SRS rewards and how to value them

Headline figures overstate some rewards. The four common types differ in where the value lands and whether you would have received it anyway.

Reward typeExampleWhere the value landsHow to value it
Cash giftDBS S$5 to S$50Usually a bank account named in the T&CsFace value, once
Fee waiverStashAway's zero investing fees for 3 monthsReduced costs inside the accountOnly the fees you would actually have paid

Cash gifts are the easiest to value: what you see is what you get, provided you meet every condition. Check whether the money lands in your SRS account or an ordinary savings account, because that decides whether it is still locked up until retirement.

Fee waivers are worth only the fees you would have paid. Three months without investing fees matters more on a large balance than a small one.

ETF rebates can be a flat amount or tiered by the size of a first deposit, so check which tier your amount reaches. StashAway's current rebate is a flat S$50 once S$3,000 is invested, and once credited, the value moves with the market.

Premium discounts reduce the cost of an insurance plan but tie you to it. A 3% saving on day one is small against the cost of surrendering a policy early.

How to claim an SRS promotion responsibly

A promotion is worth having only if the underlying decision is sound. Taking these steps in order protects both the relief and the reward.

Confirm your relief eligibility first. Check that you expect to be a tax resident for YA 2027 and that your other reliefs leave room under the S$80,000 cap. If you will get little or no relief, an SRS contribution locks money away for little benefit.

Read the full T&Cs. The promotion page is a summary. The T&Cs define a qualified customer, the qualifying channel and any exclusions, such as accounts transferred in from another bank.

Check the qualifying product. The DBS investment gift counts only eligible unit trusts and single premium insurance bought via digiWealth.

Time it against the 31 December cut-off. DBS's cash gifts end on 30 November 2026, but relief depends on the contribution reaching your SRS account by your bank's cut-off. At DBS, that is before 7pm on 31 December 2026 for digibank; UOB's TMRW app has a 7pm cut-off and OCBC accepts requests before 11:59pm on the last business day.

Remember the one-account rule. You can only have one SRS account at any point in time, and opening accounts with more than one operator is an offence. A new-account promotion is only open to you if you have no SRS account elsewhere.

Track the reward crediting. Note the date you qualified, keep the confirmation screen, and check the crediting date and account in the T&Cs. Rewards can be forfeited if you withdraw the qualifying amount or close the account early.

A last check concerns your withdrawal age. Your SRS withdrawal age is the statutory retirement age prevailing at the time of your first contribution, which rose to 64 on 1 July 2026. A first-ever contribution made for a S$5 cash gift locks that in.

Why promotions rarely justify switching SRS operators

Most SRS promotions are designed for new customers, and the T&Cs often exclude people who move an existing account across. Both OCBC campaigns of the past year excluded customers who transferred an existing SRS account from another bank. DBS's new-account gift requires a new account opened via digibank.

Switching also means a trip to the branch. To move an SRS account to OCBC, you visit a branch and complete an Account Transfer form, an SRS Account Application form and a Declaration form. UOB asks investors to approach a branch for transfers and requires that you have no existing SRS account and no pending application with another bank when opening a new one.

Investments held in SRS can add cost to a move. OCBC lists a CDP settlement fee of S$0.35 per counter and a S$10 share transfer charge per counter, plus GST, for transfers involving shares. Someone holding five counters would pay S$51.75 before GST, more than the largest cash gift on offer.

The better reasons to choose an operator are long-term ones: the investments it lets you buy with SRS money, its fees, and how easy its app is to use. A one-off reward of S$50 matters far less than those over a holding period that can run for decades.

Start investing your SRS with StashAway

If your SRS money is sitting in cash, StashAway offers several ways to invest it. New clients who sign up and invest by 30 October 2026 can claim the current welcome rewards: a S$50 ETF rebate on S$3,000 or more invested in ETF Explorer, a +3.1% p.a. booster on Simple Plus for one month on the first S$10,000, and zero investing fees for three months on investment portfolios up to S$250,000. SRS deposits count, and qualifying funds must stay invested until the reward is paid. ETF Explorer lets you use SRS to buy US- and UCITS-listed ETFs, not only SGX-listed ones, for US$1 per order.

With Regular Investing Advantage, investing in the same ETF Explorer portfolio each month makes the next month's buy order free. For a managed approach, General Investing powered by StashAway builds globally diversified ETF portfolios, with 1-year returns of 6.4% to 26.6% across risk levels. For lower-risk money, the Simple Cash suite offers a projected rate range of 3% p.a. to 6.2% p.a.

Investment values can fall as well as rise, and SRS withdrawal rules apply whichever product you choose.

Frequently asked questions

These are the questions investors most often ask about SRS promotions before the year-end deadline.

Which SRS bank has a promotion right now?

DBS is the only operator bank with an SRS-specific promotion live as of 18 October 2026, running to 30 November 2026. OCBC's and UOB's SRS pages do not list one. Check each bank's page again before you contribute, because campaigns can start at short notice.

Can I open a second SRS account to get a bonus?

No. You can hold only one SRS account at any time, and having accounts with more than one operator is an offence. If you already have an SRS account elsewhere, new-account promotions at other banks are not open to you.

Can I get both DBS cash gifts?

The two DBS categories are separate, each capped at S$50, which is how the promotion reaches S$100 in total. Within the new-account category only the highest gift applies, so S$10,000 earns S$50, not S$55. Confirm in the T&Cs that you meet the conditions of both categories before counting on S$100.

Does a promotion change my SRS tax relief?

Relief depends only on how much you contribute, your tax residency for YA 2027 and the S$80,000 overall relief cap. The bank or platform pays the reward under its own terms, on a separate track from IRAS.

Does the promotion deadline replace the 31 December cut-off?

The two dates are separate. DBS's cash gifts end on 30 November 2026, but the contribution must still reach your SRS account by your bank's cut-off on 31 December 2026 to count for YA 2027 relief. Contribute early if you want both.

Is a platform welcome offer worth switching my SRS operator for?

There is usually no need to switch. Platforms that accept SRS money receive funds from your existing operator bank, so you can keep your SRS account where it is and invest through the platform. Judge any offer by the fees and investments you get afterwards.
